The Stockholm archipelago offers a fantastic nature, just under an hour outside the capital city. The area in and around our location is the best sea kayak area for novices as there is a lot of protection behind the large and small islands. This is a great trip for first timers, more experienced paddlers will also enjoy this area as there is so much to see and do.
The wildlife and nature is astonishing, if we are lucky we can see everything from – moose to seals and eagles. Moose and roe deer, fallow deer and red foxes live on the larger islands and during the summer months they swim from island to island. White tailed/Sea eagles, ospreys and other migration birds can be seen all summer out in the archipelago. And even in the end of the season if you are lucky you can see grey and common seals out fishing in the water.
We try to camp on a new island every night on our overnight trips. This gives you more time to explore and enjoy all the nature and wildlife from the inner to the outer archipelago. With so much protection from the open sea, we can explore the inner archipelago even if it is windy. We always try to get to the outer archipelago, so you can experience the differences in the landscape and the different wildlife, but sometimes the weather hinders us from doing so. Our guides get weather updates every day and will change the trip plan depending on the weather forecast and our guests level. We carry all our food and drinking water with us. There are no showers or toilets on the islands.
On our overnight trips we have different levels to suit everyone.
Novice (to intermediate)
The BLUE level is for beginners, which wants to experience something different and enjoy the elements without pushing their own limits. Most of these BLUE trips are for you that are not used to camping or being out in the wilderness. Basic level of fitness is required.
Intermediate (to expert)
The RED level is for intermediate, which want to experience the “wilderness” and maybe push their limits. Most of these trips are for you that have been out camping before and like to get a good work out every day. These trips are also aimed at those, who have a higher level of fitness, maybe work out regularly, 3-4 times a week, even if they maybe aren’t so used to the camping life.
